Attaining the Royal Academy of Dance Advanced Certificate and Associate Member letters (ARAD) at the age of 16, Dianne is a former professional dancer and highly respected ballet educator. A specialist ballet teacher for over 35 years, she directed her own academies in New Zealand and Australia, mentoring generations of dancers from foundation through to pre-professional level.
Former Artistic Director and Choreographer for Bellder Ballet Theatre, Dianne is a sought-after teacher of senior and pre-professional students. She was honoured to work alongside internationally renowned Master Teacher Prudence Bowen and former Patron and Founding Member of ATOD, Averil Binzer. Throughout her career, Dianne has produced, staged, choreographed, directed and designed numerous full-length and short ballets across Australia and New Zealand. She has also choreographed and coached dancers for international, national and local competitions.
In 2011, Dianne was a guest of the prestigious Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet and the Mariinsky Ballet in St Petersburg, Russia, by invitation of Director Vera Dorofeeva and Artistic Director, former Principal of the Mariinsky Ballet, Altynai Asylmuratova. During this visit, Dianne observed all levels of training at the Vaganova Academy and toured both backstage and onstage at the historic Mariinsky Theatre.
Returning to St Petersburg in 2022, Dianne attended performances of major classical ballets presented by the Mariinsky Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet, the Mikhailovsky Ballet and the Leonid Jacobson Ballet Theatre. She had the great honour of meeting Artistic Director Andrian Fadeev on the stage of the renowned Alexandrinsky Theatre.
Dianne has also been a guest of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre in New York, as well as The Australian Ballet and many other distinguished institutions. She has had the privilege of attending performances by all major ballet companies worldwide.
A highly qualified and experienced Dance Adjudicator throughout Australia and New Zealand, Dianne has adjudicated numerous ballet scholarships and repertoire competitions, most recently the prestigious Peacocke Dance Trust Ballet Award in Auckland, New Zealand.
